Tóm tắt

Một biểu đồ theo thời gian = một chuỗi thay đổi. Band 6 viết "went up" mãi; Band 7 luân phiên động từ, dạng danh từ, và mức độ — đúng giới từ. Bốn mảng:

Hai cách diễn đạt cùng một ý — động từ + trạng từ ("prices rose sharply") và danh từ + tính từ ("there was a sharp rise in prices") — luân phiên hai cách này là bí quyết đa dạng câu trong Task 1.

Tại sao quan trọng

Task 1 chấm nặng Lexical Resource và Grammatical Range. Lặp "increased... increased... increased" và "went up by" giới hạn bạn ở Band 6. Đa dạng động từ xu hướng + chuyển đổi động từ↔danh từ + giới từ chính xác là cách trực tiếp nhất nâng cả hai tiêu chí.

NHÓM 1: ĐỘNG TỪ CHỈ BIẾN ĐỘNG

"rise/fall" là nội động từ (không có tân ngữ): ❌ "The price was risen" → ✅ "The price rose".

NHÓM 2: DẠNG DANH TỪ (a rise in, a decline in)

Nhiều động từ có dạng danh từ tương ứng — dùng để đổi cấu trúc câu.

⚠ Giới từ sau danh từ xu hướng là in: "a rise in prices" (KHÔNG "a rise of prices" khi nói về chủ đề; "of" dùng cho LƯỢNG: "a rise of 10%").

NHÓM 3: MỨC ĐỘ — trạng từ & tính từ

Cùng một mức độ diễn đạt hai cách:

Động từ + trạng từ:   Prices rose sharply.
Danh từ + tính từ:    There was a sharp rise in prices.
  • Imports fell dramatically = There was a dramatic fall in imports.
  • The figure increased steadily = There was a steady increase.

NHÓM 4: GIỚI TỪ XU HƯỚNG (lỗi phổ biến nhất)

  • There was an increase of 20% in sales. (of + lượng sau danh từ)
  • Numbers fell from 500 to 300.

⚠ Lỗi kinh điển người Việt: - ❌ increased of 10% → ✅ increased by 10% - ❌ rose with 5% → ✅ rose by 5%

NHÓM 5: ƯỚC LƯỢNG & SỐ XẤP XỈ

Khi số không tròn, dùng ngôn ngữ xấp xỉ:

  • The figure stood at just under 70% in 2010.

CHỌN THÌ ĐÚNG CHO XU HƯỚNG

  • Mốc quá khứ → past simple: Sales rose between 1990 and 2000.
  • Từ quá khứ tới nay → present perfect: Numbers have risen since 2010.
  • Dự báo → will / be expected to: Demand is expected to rise by 2050.

Lỗi thường gặp

Lỗi 1: Sai giới từ

  • ❌ rose of 10% / increased with 5% / fell to 10% (khi ý là LƯỢNG)
  • ✅ rose by 10% (lượng) / rose to 80% (mức)

Lỗi 2: Dùng "rise/fall" như ngoại động từ hoặc bị động

  • ❌ The price was risen. / They rose the price.
  • ✅ The price rose. (nội động từ — không bị động) / They raised the price. (raise = ngoại động từ)

Lỗi 3: Lặp một động từ

  • ❌ increased... increased... increased...
  • ✅ rose / climbed / surged / grew

Lỗi 4: Lệch dạng adv/adj

  • ❌ a sharply rise / rose sharp
  • ✅ a sharp rise (tính từ + danh từ) / rose sharply (động từ + trạng từ)

Lỗi 5: "a rise of prices" (sai giới từ sau danh từ)

  • ❌ a rise of prices → ✅ a rise in prices (of + lượng: a rise of 10%)
